The Child's Right to Creative Thought and Expression
Schools routinely use tests to identify children with musical aptitude, who then will have access to the school's limited musical instruction resources, while children who do not test well are excluded from opportunities to acquire musical performance skills.
In China, where 178 million children attend elementary and secondary school, the official purpose of art in "the national curriculum is to foster patriotism, morality, and socialism"; however, the teachers also recognize their responsibility to enlarge children's vision and allow them to create according to their imaginations (Perry, 1998).

 claudespeed's Xanga Site
The term "Poser" is rarely used outside the context of musical and high school based subcultures, and many people consider the term and the obsession with authenticity as it pertains to a particular group to be highly juvenile.
Even though subcultures are not just based on music, some of their roots are developed from musical genres (for example: pop-punk is real punk: not true, because it does not relate to punk idealism, thus leading to the most common case of "poserism": mainstream music).
Poseur (Americanized as poser) is a derogatory label for an individual who seeks to identify with a particular subculture, not because they have taken on its shared values but because they seek to gain social status within the culture, or to gain the status associated with it.
