		The ground behind High Tor is formed by late Brigantian and early Namurian shale, with Riber Castle built on the escarpment of Ashover Grit forming the skyline (Smith et al, 1967).
		The lens-shaped mass of pale unbedded limestone at High Tor is an excellent example of a carbonate mud mound; the main type of reef found in limestones of Carboniferous age around the world.
		The carbonate mud mound at High Tor interrupted this erosion because it projected upwards into the shale and diverted the course of the River Derwent vertically downwards to form the Derwent Gorge.

	High Tor Wildlife Management Area
		The High Tor Wildlife Management Area consists of approximately 6,100 acres in Ontario and Yates Counties.
		The area is well named by the word TOR which means craggy hill or peak.
		The largest part of the area, approximately 3,400 acres just east of the Village of Naples, is primarily scenic steep wooded terrain, intersected by administrative truck trails usable as foot access to the more remote sections of the area.

		Tor servers are not stable on Windows XP currently, because we try to use hundreds of sockets, and the Windows kernel doesn't seem capable of handling this.
		Because Tor has separate TCP connections between each hop, if the incoming bytes are arriving just fine and the outgoing bytes are all getting dropped on the floor, the TCP push-back mechanisms don't really transmit this information back to the incoming streams.
		Tor circuits are built one hop at a time, so in theory we have the ability to make some streams exit from the second hop, some from the third, and so on.

		When we arrived at the top, the views from the top of the Tor were excellent, it would have been very disappointing to have arrived there in cloud or in poor visibility.
		We all reached to the highest point on the Tor within 10 minutes of each other and the idea that West Mill was higher than Yes Tor was proved to be a pure optical illusion, but it does show how the eye can be fooled.
		Yes Tor sits at a height of 619 metres and although much more impressive as a Tor than High Willhays, that scattered outcrop of rocks, less than 1 kilometre to the south, wins the highest point stakes for Dartmoor at a height of 621 metres.
