Highest averages method - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The highest averages method requires the number of votes for each party to be divided successively by a series of divisors, and seats are allocated to parties that secure the highest resulting quotient or average, up to the total number of seats available.
Another highest average method is called Imperiali (not to be confused with the Imperiali quota which is a Largest remainder method).
An alternative to the highest averages method is the largest remainder method, which use a minimum quota which can be calculated in a number of ways.

Contraceptive Method Choice in Developing Countries
Method availability is measured through the program effort scores as the percentage of the population having ready and easy access to each contraceptive method.
Method availability is distinct from method use: The condom, for example, may be easily available but little used; in fact, its level of use for family planning has usually been quite low.
Likewise, the highest prevalence of female sterilization (35-41%) is found in countries where 71-80% of the population have access to the method.

Differential Scoring Method - Golf Rank Index
The award is based on an average of the adjusted scores a player accumulates from all the stroke-play events within the "official season" of the Tour.
The differential method removes a comparison of player results to par from the calculation, while it is a key element of the current adjusted scoring method.
While neither method adjusts for the strength of field directly, the statistical data indicates that the strength of field is not a significant factor one way or the other.

 Mixed Member Proportional - dKosopedia
In each constituency, the representative is chosen using a single winner method, typically first-past-the-post (that is, the candidate with the most votes, by plurality, wins).
The total number of seats in the assembly are allocated to parties proportionally to the number of votes the party received in the party portion of the ballot.
Alternatively, something like a highest averages method is used to allocate the list seats, but the number of seats already won in the constituencies is taken into account in setting the denominators used in the calculations for the list seats.

Fairly Assessing Individual Contributions to Group Software Projects
While appealing to a sense of fairness and accuracy, this method yielded too little variance to be useful, and was a nuisance to calculate.
Floor and ceiling are applied to each average, which serves to align the input assumption—that a reasonable range of contributions is from half-strength (10) to double-strength (20)—with the output’s agreed range (85-115%).
Student acceptance of this assessment method appeared to be widespread, as evidenced by receiving zero appeals of project grades, even in cases where individuals received grades at the low end of the possible range.

 Kimmunications: The Snider Method
The Snider Method creates a portfolio of synthetic bonds, which in the aggregate, have about the same level of risk as investment grade corporates and act similarly.
I, of course, include the Snider Method in the bond category as it is a terrific alternative to traditional bonds because the yield is so much higher for the same level of risk and shorter duration.
The Snider method is definitely not highly liquid - any more or less than a traditional bond portfolio is. We tell everyone not to put any money in the Snider Method that you aren't willing to leave the principal invested for at least two years.
