Hiiumaa has long been one of my favorite places in Estonia, but it's one of the hardest places to get to on a day trip.
At the very end of the Kõpu peninsula, at the westernmost point of Hiiumaa, is Ristna point and the Ristna lighthouse.
An interesting bit of history is that the foot of this lighthouse is where the Soviet troops surrendered to the Nazis in World War II (October 21, 1941; 4,300 prisoners taken by the Germans).
