Termini Imerese, Himera, Caccamo - Best of Sicily
The name Termini Imerese is derived from the Latin "Thermae Himerenses" or "Hot Springs of Himera." Indeed, the remains of arched Roman aqueducts are visible at Termini.
The ruins of ancient Himera (Imera), famous for the remains of the Temple of Victory, are located in a coastal plain at the mouth of the Imera River about 14 kilometers east of Termini off of State Road 113 (SS113), in the district called Buonfornello.
Himera's Doric temple is interesting, though it is less spectacular than the temples of Segesta and Agrigento.

  Himera, Italy
In 649/648 B.C. Himera was founded from Zancle (Messina) as a mixed Dorian-Ionian settlement close to the north coast of Sicily.
Himera was - along with Selinunte on the south coast - the furthest west into Carthaginian territory that the Greek settlements penetrated.
The greatest hour of Himera's history arrived in 480 B.C. Replying to the tyrant Terillos's cry for help against the threat from Theron of Acragas (Agrigento), the Carthaginians landed under the command of Hamilcar, who was almost certainly in league with the Persian king, Xerxes, who attacked Greece at the same time.
