		HIMEROS (or Himerus) was the god of sexual desire, one of the young Erotes (winged Love-Gods).
		When the goddess Aphrodite first emerged new-born from the sea-foam's she was greeted by the twin loves Eros and Himeros.
		Himeros was usually depicted as winged youth or child, as were the other Erotes.

		Himeros is extremely large crater, about 5.8 miles wide, covering a large portion of Eros' midsection.
		Himeros is unusually saddle shaped, due to its immense size in proportion to Eros.
		The Shoemaker crater is actually within Himeros, which is said to have caused much of the debris within Himeros and Shoemaker.

		In the early images Himeros appeared saddle-shaped, and we could not be sure if it was indeed an impact crater, but Psyche displayed from the start the classical bowl shape of an impact crater.
		Another mystery is that the interior surface of Himeros is relatively smooth and much less heavily cratered than typical areas on Eros, and so it must be relatively young.
		The interior of Shoemaker Regio is young like the interiors of Himeros and Psyche, because it is lightly cratered, but it is also the most boulder-rich area on Eros and very different from the relatively smooth interiors of Himeros and Psyche.

		It could certainly be a title of Eros, but I have found mention of Anteros as a seperate deity in Edith Hamilton's Mythology.
		The myth of the floating baby with wings came from the idea that the spirits of the future born visited earth to match up their future parents which probably explains why there was so many of them as opposed to only one Eros.

		One of the most recognizable surface features on Eros is the boulder-filled, concave depression at the southwestern edge of the saddle-shaped Himeros feature.
		When it was first glimpsed early in NEAR Shoemaker's orbital mission the area was informally tagged "Boulderado." It is shown here in a mosaic of pictures taken June 14, 2000, from an orbital altitude of 32 miles (52 kilometers).
		Instead, "Boulderado" is covered with the densest concentrations of boulders on the asteroid, suggesting that the craters that must once have populated the area have either been buried or eroded by regolith movement.
