Himura Kenshin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The main character of the Rurouni Kenshin series: Kenshin was a former Imperialist assassin that went by the name "Hitokiri Battōsai" (spelled with a macron in the Viz manga, and spelled as "Hitokiri Battousai" in the English anime releases).
Meanwhile, Kenshin runs off, desperate to find her, and is ambushed by several Yaminobu ninjas, each of whom manages to wound him severely, being blinded and deafened by an explosion set off by a dying ninja and numbed by the cold with only his sense of smell remaining.
Kenshin eventually becomes ravaged by an unknown disease, thought by some fans to be leprosy, although the writers have admitted there is no medical explanation for the ending.
