 Bible Prophecy Calendar: 360 day/year
All calendars insert leap-days or leap-months to nudge the 'normal' year closer to the exact 365.2422 year, otherwise before long the months on the calendar would be out of synchronization with the seasons of the year.
In the modern Hebrew calendar, a 'normal' year has 354 days, but upon every 2 or 3 years a leap month is added with 384 days in that year.
However, the 360 Prophetic Calendar soon shows itself wonderfully supreme in every way, as it spans and divides time into biblical generations of 40 and 100 years, and biblical ages of 4,000 and 100,000 years; with the biblical principle of a 7th-day rest woven throughout.

 The Hindu Calendar
This calendar has been modified and elaborated, but because it is based on the stars (nakshatras) visible to the naked eye, and on the visible Lunar phases, it is more accurate than any others of the past.
Both these calendars (the oldest in the Aryan Race) are influenced by the prehistoric calendars of the first and second root races at the North Pole and its surroundings, as they reckon with days and nights lasting six months.
For untold ages, the Hindus have observed the motion of the moon, the sun and the seven planets along a definite path that circles our sky and is marked by fixed clusters of stars.

 Hindu Holidays
As such they are as close to the official dates as is possible, bearing in mind that the authoritative source on the Indian calendar, the Indian Astronomical Ephemeris, is usually published late in the year preceding the year under consideration.
This is justified by the fact that the Hindu Lunar day begins at sunrise, and that for a lunar day to be expunged it must occur less than an hour before sunrise, hence the expunged day's start is already in the next day of the Western calendar whose days begin at midnight.
Expecting a unified and consistent approach to holidays in the Hindu world is akin to expecting all of Europe to have a single set of holidays, without any regional variations within the various countries in Europe.

 Hindu Calendar
The history of the calendar is the attempt of various astronomers, astrologers, priests and mathematicians to perform the ultimate magic of synchronizing the Solar and Lunar periods.
Ancient calendars were based on lunar months, but in order to keep the calendar in step with the seasons, it was necessary to insert extra months, because 12 lunar months are 10.8751234326 days short of a tropical year.
The Vedic Calendar is the oldest and tries to cover this shortfall of 10.87 days between 12 lunar months and a year by interpolating an extra month every third year called he Adhika Masa.
