Hino accounts for about a quarter of Japan's annual demand for trucks of that size.
Under the alliance with Hino, Scania will enter the Japanese market by selling Scania-made trucks with adjustments by Hino from the second half of 2003.

According to a separate report from Nihon Keizai Shimbum last week, Hino will install DPFs on all of its new trucks for Japan by autumn 2003, tapping government subsidies to offset the (U.S.) $2,400 to $6,400 DPF cost premium (depending upon truck and DPF size).

Hino (日野) is near Tokyo central -- in fact it is technically a part of Tokyo.
I actually wanted to work in one of the smaller towns (like Beppu or Ueda) so that I'll be immersed in a fully Japanese environment, but I can't really complain about Hino either..
