Hipatia is a non-governmental organization created by free software activists, whose action is under the banner of free knowledge in different areas (as medicine and biotechnology).
Hipatia is the organization that is serving as a channel for a better communication and coordination of efforts between World Social Forum and free software world.

WSF media rules included a bar on news organisations bringing in Windows-based desktops, although personal notebooks were allowed in the media centre.
For free software advocates -- including those from groups like Hipatia, ourproject.org, and the U.S.-based Free Software Foundation - said that the WSF was the right venue to mix technology and advocacy.

Y si te molesta la crítica (que tú das en llamar ensañamiento) y no estás dispuesto a refutarla con argumentos, te recomiendo que pases de leer este tipo de historias y que te refugies en foros como el de hazteoir, donde no te darán estos disgustos.
El tema que has escrito sobre Hipatia me ha gustado (como casi todo en este blog).
El comentario que hice no surgió por la historia de Hipatia, sino por los comentarios posteriores (en especial uno) y el ambiente general anticatólico que reina en los medios de comunicación de las sociedades occidentales.
