The 150th anniversary of the founding of Hiram College has been the focus of attention for almost two years for a small group of faculty, staff, students, alumni, trustees, and residents from the village of Hiram.
Known as the Sesquicentennial Committee, the team was established in July 1997 by Hiram College President G. Benjamin Oliver and charged with planning a celebration that provides an opportunity for all friends of Hiram College to participate and honor the rich and distinctive history of the college.
Hiram College also received a grant from the Hiram Community Trust to produce a video marking this milestone in the institution's history.

Hiram College was established in 1850 as a preparatory institution of high grade called the Western Reserve Eclectic Institute.
Hiram's next president, Paul H. Fall (1940-1957) saw the college through the war years and administered the Intensive Study Plan for 250 Army Air Force cadets in training at Hiram as well as the college's traditional students.

The mascot illustration for Hiram College (the Hiram Bulldogs) was commissioned by the Hiram College art director as part of an image makeover for the team.
Hiram College has had the bulldog as thier mascot for some time, but no artwork for the pup.
After working on multiple variations for the mascot illustration, the art director and I settled on a design which was completed as digital vector art in Adobe Illustrator.
