I'm glad that Germans appreciate what is good about their cultural heritage, and of course most of it is good, and are trying to preserve it instead of pissing it away.
But it's a question of extent-- it's fine to have some ethnic minorities in a country to spice it up a bit, but mass immigration, to the extent that the immigrants and their kids outnumber the natives, is a recipe for sheer failure.

Early Hispanic borrowings, although highly hybridized into a Filipino culture that is essentially based on native Filipino foundations, are plenty and varied and have given the national Filipino culture a distinctive twang.
While Filipinos ethnically identify as Asian, and rightly so, they still acknoweledge that the Hispanic cultural influence forms an important part of their Filipino history and culture, thus a part of who they are.

i agree, the philippines has had some bad luck in its time, thats why they should try and start anew, there culture in the phillipines is actually very similar to malaysian or indonesian culture its just alot of filipino americans that people here are annoyed with.
dont contradict all the other filipinos tyring to defend themselves by showing other asians that we do not think we are latinos or hispanics, by boasting that filipinos and mexicos are near the same, we are very far apart, us filipinos are as asian as the chinese, just a different kind of asian.
So a new category was created, and hispanics were given the option of checking the "spanish-surname" box.

I woudn't jump to slavery conclusions if you (south side) had stated you had an oppurtunity to hire people from Indo or Phillipines.
This sounds strange to us, but Hispanic culture is much more community oriented, so they value people more than money.

My friends from the Phillipines and the people in my Doce Pares Club spell it "Phillipines", and that's what's printed on the T - Shirts we got courtesy of Guro Dong.
But here I see it spelt "Filipines" and abbreviated FMA.
