Hermann-Grima Historic House in New Orleans has (had?) a terrific cooking program in their kitchen at the back of the house where I was privileged to cook on the hearth and at the potager (stew-stove) many years ago.
Traditional and historic cooks have known forever that lard is perfect for pie crusts and makes a wonderful frying medium, though I did hear of one cooking program in a New England museum (which shall remain nameless) where the staff routinely brought in margarine from home to use because they thought the butter unhealthful.
Lefferts Historic House in Prospect Park in Brooklyn is a 1783 farmhouse from the village of Flatbush, historically the agricultural hinterland of New York to the end of the 19th century.

Perhaps Los Angeles' Bunker Hill doesn't have the same significance to our country's history as the one in Massachusetts held so tenaciously by American volunteers against King George III in 1776, but it is a historic marker in Downtown's history.
It wasn't until 1948 that Los Angeles City Council created a redevelopment agency and in 1955 adopted a plan for the hill that would include, among other things, modern apartment buildings and landscaped plazas.
The Pavilion, named for the Los Angeles Times matriarch and arts patron Dorothy Buffum Chandler, was dedicated in September, 1964 and opened in December with Zubin Mehta conducting the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.

 Angels Flight
Bunker Hill became an urban renewal project under the California Redevelopment Act, and in the late 1960s, everything was demolished to make room for office buildings and a senior citizen's condominium complex, called the Angelus Plaza.
A planned third tower was to be built alongside at the corner of 4th and Hill streets, which in addition would feature the new Angels Flight, but the recession and the real estate decline of the 1990s killed the plan.
The total cost of restoration for the new Angels Flight was $4.1 million, paid for by the CRA and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).
