A number of Chinese official and unofficial national anthems were made around the early 20th century, only two remain in use: the "National Anthem of the Republic of China" (Republic of China (Taiwan)) and the People's Republic of China's national anthem ("The March of the Volunteers").
After the establishment of the provisional government in Nanjing, the Ministry of Education under Cai Yuanpei asked the public for possible anthem (as well as coat of arm), and the one whose lyrics was written by Shen Enyun (沈恩孕) and music by Shen Pengnian (沈彭年) was released as a draft in the newspaper.
The anthem was released in July 1921 by the Department of National Affairs (國務院).

 March of the Volunteers
The March of the Volunteers (Simplified Chinese: 义勇军进行曲, pinyin: Yìyǒngjūn Jìnxíngqǔ) is the national anthem of the People's Republic of China, written in the midst of the Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945) by the noted poet and playwright Tian Han (田汉) with music composed by Nie Er (聂耳).
It was used as the national anthem for the first time in an international conference in February 1949 held in Prague, Czechoslovakia.
The anthem is written completely in Vernacular Chinese, while the Republic of China's "Three Principles of the People" is Classical Chinese.

Several of those who joined the lively dialogue about my position stated that ‘they did not care’, that the question whether we should have one NATIONAL anthem, or several ethnic specific ones, was merely a distraction from the ‘real’ issues, the war, unemployment and so on.
I find it unwise to single out one group of people and focus on them as if they were somehow detrimental to the nation because they have decided to sing a version of the SSB in the language they are most comfortable using.
The term undocumented workers is garbage and this spanish version of the anthem has its references to breaking the chains, I dont recall that line in the original, if we want to win elections we better as a party figure this out.

The interpretation of the anthems seems to attempt to give an 'appropriate' national flavour to each one.
While it lacks the 'big' sound usually associated with this anthem, it is distinctive - and is probably a quite good representation of how it might have sounded back in 1792.
The anthems are performed by a chamber orchestra and consequently have neither the 'big' sound of a full orchestra, nor the martial sound of a military band.
