Forgiving the Culprits: Japanese Historical Revisionism in a Post-Cold War Context - Ingyu Oh and Douglas ...
The underlying objective of historical revisionism is to blur the distinct line that exists between the victims and the aggressors.
Japan is not a neutral state but a model peace state that all nations of the world are expected to emulate in the near future (Nakakita, 1997, 37).

Historical revisionism (Japan) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Since World War II, some Japanese historians have attempted a form of historical revisionism, applied in particular to the Empire of Japan.
In some cases this has led historical scholars to deny, cover up, or whitewash war atrocities; such as the activities of Unit 731 or the Nanjing Massacre.
The precise death counts during the Nanjing Massacre are often disputed and denied by Japanese revisionists.

A Postwar View of the Greater East Asia War
Had Japan's southern advance been less of a blitzkrieg (for Japan itself as well), there might have been time to lay ample foundations for a "war of Asian liberation." Japan, however, was unable to control the timing and scale of the fighting, and even the question of war or peace was outside its control.
Japan's plight is that it must live as if it were completely unaware that others calculate all their moves on the basis of power -- in fact, it must work actively to remain ignorant of such calculations.
Japan, exhausted by the war with China and faced with the threat of forcible resistance by at least one of the powers, Russia, was forced to yield to this demand.- Ed., Japan Echo.

Asia Times Online - The trusted news source for information on Japan
Japan's so-called Northern Territories have lately received a lot of media coverage, reflecting Tokyo's hope, or rather wish, that it may be high time for Russia to relinquish, willy-nilly, the latter's control since 1945 of the four disputed southernmost islands, plus some uninhabited islets, of the Kuril Archipelago to their rightful owner - Japan.
Unfortunately for Japan, the official version of the Treaty of St Petersburg was written in French, befitting both the Francophile tradition of the Czarist Russia and the rigor of French as a diplomatic language.
This commentator is not entirely unsympathetic to Japan's wish to reclaim the southern Kurils, nor is he oblivious to the fact that Japan in all likelihood did more than Czarist Russia, the Soviet Union and post-Soviet Russia combined in developing the Kurils and the Sakhalin Island, on which several generations of Japanese colonists were buried.

One indication is Article 9 of Japan's constitution, which bars the country from using "the threat or use of force as a means of settling international disputes." Another reflection of Japan's pacifism is its military budget.
Japan's future role on the world stage will also be influenced by the outcome of the struggle going on within Japan over whether or not to loosen current military restraints (Lincoln, 1994; Pyle, 1992).
Concern over Japan's hesitancy to apologize unreservedly was enhanced by its refusal to assist the 200,000 mostly Korean women who were enslaved during the war as "comfort women" and forced to satiate the sexual appetites of Japanese troops.

The Case for Revisionism (and Against A Priori History) - Mises Institute
Revisionism is an historical discipline made necessary by the fact that all States are governed by a ruling class that is a minority of the population, and which subsists as a parasitic and exploitative burden upon the rest of society.
The noble task of Revisionism is to de-bamboozle: to penetrate the fog of lies and deception of the State and its Court Intellectuals, and to present to the public the true history of the motivation, the nature, and the consequences of State activity.
Revisionism therefore reveals to us in all its starkness that the State Enemy in the United States is purely at home and not abroad.

It was the early flowering of holocaust revisionism, in fact, that set the stage for the birth of the IHR and, ultimately, the advent of the Mermelstein affair.
Revisionism now not only had an audience which was growing in number, but it had more and more full-fledged historians and other academics who were willing to put their reputations on the public chopping block.
By the time that historical revisionism became a part of the historical debate (perhaps largely, ironically, because of publicity arising from the Mermelstein Affair, which we will examine in these pages), Establishment historians were becoming obsessed with combating revisionism.

 What About the Anunnaki?
This modern revisionism often carries with it an abhorrence of the ideas of those who are classically educated in a given field; it seems to be embraced most frequently by renegades and modern "Indiana Joneses" and thrill-seekers who eschew the typical channels of education.
In such an education, however, if one discovers factual information that is contradictory to what one already believes or perceives, one is compelled by honesty to abandon the earlier, erroneous model and accept the new, which is essentially what the renegade is also attempting to do.
None of these characters is a historical person, as, again, the Sumero-Babylonians correctly identified their own gods as being the "planets," which, of course, included the sun and the moon.

Western investment and Western political models gave them a kick-start, and those who have taken advantage of it, such as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, have shown that it is possible to transform a politically backward, underdeveloped country into a prosperous, modern, liberal democratic nation in as little as two generations.
