I have never heard of any lensmaking cooperation between the two companies, so think it is most unlikely that they were other than competitors.
And Gundlach/Turner-Reich was in the suburb of Fairport...Dr. Kingslake wrote a little book about the history of photographic manufacturing in Rochester (there was a lot) but he never delved into such arcane detail.
I'll have to take another look at that lens, there must be some reason I need it...

Seminar was okay, a little bit messy in the lab (with 30T and 12T lens grinding compounds that make your hands smell like metal), but I get back to the ag and the printer is broken.
I'm not that great with history, but maybe it's because history is an inherently difficult topic to study.
Many of the things I enjoy have quite a bit of history behind them, which I could stand to learn.
