Gay Games V in Amsterdam (An industrial center and the nominal capital of the Netherlands; center of the diamond-cutting industry; seat of an important stock exchange; known for its canals and art museum) was the largest sporting event in history, with over 14,000 participants taking part in over 30 sports and cultural events.

While the courts have clearly ruled against same-sex marriage in the past, there is a definitive trend toward acceptance of gay marriage.
I believe that it is possible, if not probable, that the remaining barriers to gay marriage will disappear in the relatively near future allowing same-sex couples to enjoy the same privileges that married couples of opposite sexes enjoy.
