History of the World, Part I is a 1981 film directed by Mel Brooks.
Between the Dawn of Man and the Roman Empire sequences there is also a very short clip called "The Old Testament," which shows Moses receiving fifteen commandments from God, then dropping a tablet and declaring them to be only Ten Commandments.
At the very end of the film there is a teaser-trailer for History of the World: Part II, which promises to feature a Viking funeral, Hitler on Ice, and Jews in Space.

Now I think it is one of the funniest movies ever, a genius spoof of world history troughout different period of time.
The best part to me was the part about the Roman times, when Comicus the stand up philosopher is introduced.
History of the World is a great movie that features a terrific cast including Mel Brooks, Gregory Hines, Madeline Kahn, Harvey Korman and Sid Caesar.

Sid Caesar gives all he has for his short bit as the lead caveman (and granted, the entry works).
Moses fails to deliver and whatever comic intent there is shatters just like his extra table of commandments.
The French Revolution begins well, bringing Harvey Korman, Cloris Leachman, and Andreas Katsoulas, all Brooks veterans, back on film in small but memorable parts, but not long after this segment begins that it goes down, down under and never bothers to recover itself.

It's difficult to dislike Brooks' parody of the historical epic, as old-fashioned as it is anarchic: a series of comic sketches playing through scenes from Kubrick's 2001, DeMille's Ten Command-ments, Roman sandal epics, and Louis XIV's court immediately prior to the French Revolution.
Brooks piles on the scatological humour thick and fast, including many of the world's worst jokes, and as usual there's a high number of misses for every gag that hits the target.
