	Smash Hits (album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Smash Hits was the first compilation album released by The Jimi Hendrix Experience in 1968 in the UK and 1969 in the US.
		Containing their first 4 UK singles (and their respective B-sides) in addition to 4 standout tracks from Are You Experienced, Smash Hits became exactly that - a #5 album in the UK and one that had a long chart life.
		Jimi's then-record label, Reprise Records, felt that a greatest hits collection was far too premature and waited until mid-1969 (and, coincidentally, the break-up of the band once Noel Redding suddenly quit) to issue a different version of the same album.

	Greatest Hits II album review
		As the inaugural single release from the album 'The Works', ‘Radio Ga Ga’ didn’t fill me with much confidence, but still, what do I know, this song was a huge hit single for the band, and Roger’s first A-side release.
		The album version contains two solos, the first an emotional, wailing frenzy (omitted from the single version), his tone thick and biting, which acts as a formidable hors d’oeuvre for the astonishing, belligerent flailing of the second solo, an intense sonic workout given extra power as the song goes into double time.
		For me, this anthology is not quite as exceptional as the first 'Greatest Hits' album, but it is good to see all four members represented, and many of the compositions here did go on to become essential inclusions at live concerts, and opened up Queen's music to another generation of fans.

	Supergrass Plan Greatest Hits Album
		The mighty Supergrass are following up the success of 2002’s ‘Life on Other Planets’ and celebrating their tenth anniversary with a new Greatest Hits compilation, bringing together all the single from their career.
		The trio of Gaz Coombes, Danny Goffey and Micky Quinn will be releasing the record, culled from their four albums (‘I Should Coco’, ‘In It for the Money’, ‘Supergrass’ and ‘Life On Other Planets’) later this year.
		As previously reported, the band will also be releasing a 'Best Of' DVD in May which will include most of Supergrass’ often acclaimed videos since their first release ‘Caught By The Fuzz’ back in 1994.

		This is one of the first who albums I ever bought and subsequently had a great influence on me. There are a few songs that I have no idea what in the hell they are about.
		I defend this album a tiny bit because it gave me a little glimpse of Quadrophenia when I was being introduced to the Who's Music, but now I have a different point of view.
		I agree that the album is weak for it's lack of a true career retrospective.

		With more than 14 million albums sold worldwide, Erasure were at the peak in the otherwise musically barren late 1980s but it's fair to say that Vince and Andy have produced little in the past 10 years to suggest they're doing anything other than resting on past glories.
		The fanbase will no doubt snap up early copies of this album, which come with a bonus megamix disc, but taken as a whole this is something of a missed opportunity.
		A thorough retrospective of the duo's 17-year career - which this album certainly isn't - may only appeal to nostalgia buffs and devotees, but it is still long overdue.
