  The Mitsubishi Zero - Warprize
On arrival at the Port of Auckland on Saturday 20 October, transport by barge was arranged to RNZAF station Hobsonville.
Hobsonville was instructed to make the aircraft serviceable, carry out a 90-hour inspection, and draw up a provisional maintenance schedule to cover daily inspections for a period of exhibition flying.
However, there was still enough interest at Hobsonville for Wing Commander Willis, as CO Hobsonville, to authorise himself to perform one ten minute flight in the Zero.

 Army Launches
Late in 1939 a 19.5m (64ft) high speed launch of the type used by the RAF for air sea rescue and target towing was delivered to the RNZAF by the British Power Boat Co., Hythe England.
(The RNZAF was established 1/4/1937.) Based at Hobsonville, and eventually not named, this vessel had three 500bhp petrol engines amd a top speed of 38 knots.
This craft was based at Hobsonville and does not appear to have a name.

However, after finding caterpillars near the Hobsonville air base, which is outside the spray zone, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry said the spray programme would continue and the spray zone would be expanded.
Project director Ian Gear said the Hobsonville find was an isolated outbreak but surveys would continue between Hobsonville and the main area of infestation.

The Bell 47 was the first helicopter to enter New Zealand military service as the 47G-3 model, introduced in two batches in Dec 1965 (6 airframes) and 1970 (7 airframes) to RNZAF Hobsonville and known as the Sioux, during its service.
3 Squadron reformed as a rotary wing unit at RNZAF Hobsonville in 1965 with UH-1 Iroquois and the Sioux for training.
In 1966 the unit received the Wasp HAS.1, which it operated and maintained on behalf of the RNZN until 1977, when the Naval Support Flight (still within 3 Squadron, RNZAF) was formed and this continued the Wasp operations.
