Hockey East is a college athletic conference which operates in New England.
Hockey East came into existence in 1984 for men's hockey when most of its current members split apart from what is today known as the ECAC Hockey League.
The Hockey East Championship Game has been held in Boston since 1987, at the FleetCenter, now the TD Banknorth Garden, since 1996.
