| | VROM - Biodiversity: a solution for regional challenges |
 | | Both the conservation and the sustainable use of biodiversity by society (in relation to the functions: agriculture, fruit cultivation, water, fish and water management, nature, recreation, living, working and communication/education) were subject of this project. |
 | | Both goals were reached; a vision on biodiversity in the Hoeksche Waard was composed and the actively involved citizens produced a considerable number of coherent biodiversity project plans that formed the basis for the formulation of a long-term policy ambition for biodiversity in the Hoeksche Waard. |
 | | As a follow-up of this project the province of South Holland, local officials from the water board Council “Hollandse Delta” and the regional commission for Spatial Planning “Commissie Hoeksche Waard” have composed a Regional Biodiversity Action Plan and have committed to actively facilitate and coordinate the implementation of the proposed projects from this Regional Plan. |
