The Hogenakal forest is a nice drive with beautiful forest views and lots of monkeys as we go down to the water.
On entering Hogenakal town at around 11:30, we were met by the coracle guys.
Let me describe the falls here to you, they are not very high and one such falls would not be a great thing, but here the cauvery leaps down over a large area creating around 15 such waterfalls which make for great scenery.

There is no wide open space where you can stand and watch the fall; you need to hire a coracle and get right into the gorge to be able to see it.

Speaking on the occasion, okkuta president Sha Murali said that the former Minister Mallikarjun Nagappa had promised to carry out a joint survey when the issue was raised in the Assembly in 2000.
Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu Government took steps to develop Hogenakal Falls as a tourist destination.
