	Hold Your Fire - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Hold Your Fire is the twelfth studio album by the Canadian rock band Rush, released in 1987 (see 1987 in music).
		The album was recorded at The Manor in Oxfordshire, Ridge Farm Studio in Surrey, Air Studios in Montserrat and at McClear Place in Toronto.
		Although Hold Your Fire uses nearly as much synthesizer as its predecessor, Power Windows, Hold Your Fire’s guitar riffs and solos are considerably more common on several songs.

		The truth of these statements is indicated by experimental nature of the album in regards to composition and harmonics - simply compare it to earlier albums and you'll wonder if you're listening to the same band.
		The songs, though not short, are considerably shorter than most of the band's earlier work; the harmonics are more radio-friendly, and it's my own personal opinion that the lyrics are beyond anything else they've ever done.
		Hold Your Fire, as I've said, is not over-popular with some diehard Rush fans.

		I have a special place for HYF because 1986-7 was when I got into Rush (after my Dad played me Exit...Stage Left) and HYF was not only the first Rush album I got, it was the first album by anyone that I bought with my own money.
		HYF and AFK were the first Rush records I bought, and they have stayed with me. HYF inspired me lyrically more than anything, and it really motivated me to take my writing seriously.
		Hold your Fire is one of my favorites....I listen to it more often than the others....However, I am into Counterparts and Signals as well as favorites!!
