Holes is a fab book.I read it in class and every one loved it.This is the only Louis Sacher book I've read and I am going to try to read more of his books in the future.

You really get three stories for the price of one with this book, but the main theme is how young Stanley Yelnats IV comes to redeem the curse which was visited upon his great-great-grandfather and all the Yelnats family, through the generations, by Madame Zeroni.
Holes is a very interesting book and in some parts quite sad.

At the end of the book with Hector's mom I wish they would have gone into a bit more detail about their relationship afterwards but without saying this you got to guess what happened next which was kind of cool!
I also like this book because the characters are creative and their nicknames are definitly "out of this world".
Very good book, I enjoyed it aloth, although I found that you have to read through it e few times to notice some smaller details.

Then he will get to spend a day or two recovering in his tent, instead of having to dig a hole out on the lake.
Though the digging is supposed to be a character-building exercise, the counselors let the boys know that the Warden wants to be alerted if anyone digs up anything "interesting." A fossil Stanley (by then known as Caveman) finds doesn't qualify, but a gold-colored tube with the initials KB does.
With each hole he digs, Stanely comes closer to the truth that KB stands for Kissin' Kate Barlow, a schoolteacher whose forbidden love for an onion seller turned her into a notorious outlaw who roamed the area back when there was a lake in Green Lake.

Since Zero loves to dig holes and is quick at it, he would be able to finish at a good time.
The campers also need to dig holes that are 5 feet wide and 5 feet deep and there are so many holes it goes down a long way.
I recommend this book to those who feel picked on like Stanley, you can relate to how he deals with bullies and the outcome afterwards.

When I went to see Holes, the theatre was packed, and mostly with Gen Y. I really had to look for an available seat --this film is exceedingly important.
If you're not familiar with the previous paragraph, you don't know Holes -which is right in there with Harry Potter, in terms of Gen Y. Published in 1998, Louis Sachar's Holes has been awarded both the Newbery Medal and the National Book Award for children's literature.
Books that form part of the the holy cannon for Gen Y are the Harry Potter series and Holes.

After reading this book my writing styles etc became much more interesting and I feel it was because of this book "Holes".
There are too many other well-written books out there to have to settle for this kind of traumatic read.

Some parts of the book are when Zero runs away and when Caveman finds him.
I would suggest this book to anyone who likes survival of the fittest.
I felt like I was really there, and that I was feeling the pain of digging the holes and the happiness when they found the treasure and Camp Green Lake was no more.
