Holker Street is a sports stadium located in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, United Kingdom.
Holker Street was at the center of Barrow's financial problems of the late 1990s, due to disputes over its ownership, which now rests with the football club.
The stadium's future is uncertain, as Barrow A.F.C. consider plans to relocate to a new stadium in Barrow's proposed docklands development.

Attendances vary - the record of 16,874 was set against Swansea City in the FA Cup Third Round in 1954 - but during the 1990s and 2000s the average has remained consistently between 1,000 and 1,100.
Barrow were founded in 1901 and played at various grounds before moving to their current stadium, Holker Street, in 1909.
This reduced time in which to play their fixtures led to the scheduling of Barrow v Winsford United on December 30, 1999, recognised as the last professional or semi-professional game in the UK of the millennium (assuming the year 2000 is considered to be part of the third millennium AD).

The consortium of Mawdsley, Oakes and Mauger introduced Speedway to Barrow in 1972 at the Holker Street home of the towns struggling division 4 (then) soccer club.
After Speedway finished at Holker Street he sought out the Park Road site and built the humble stadium from scratch.
Sadly crowds were never as big as for Holker Street and he pulled the plug at the end of the Furness Flyers only league season.

In reply to Hightown Tiger, Holker Street is not used by Barrow Raiders, who instead play at Craven Park, a short walk away.
Incidentally this ground was actually used for football recently when Holker Old Boys staged a game against FC United of Manchester there, Holker Street already beening booked for a Barrow FA Trophy tie the same weekend.
Between the years of 1972-1974 Holker St Barrow was home to the Barrow speedway team, who raced round the outside of the football pitch.

We did consider opening a turnstyle at Canal street on march 10th, to see if people would show support by attending Canal Street instead of Widnes.
Though, that mention of a friendly against a Premiership team from Merseyside a couple of days before Barrow are due to play in the league at Canal Street does have an unpleasant sense of deja vu about it.
The revelation that Darren Roberts' terms are to be based on the amount of goals he knocks in and the general team performance met with thumbs up from this particular part of Holker Street.

Heavy rain once again preceded a Barrow v Altrincham game at Holker Street and was to fall again during the second half today.
Barrow were celebrating their recent emergence from four years in financial administration but they like Altrincham had drawn 11 league games this season, so the outcome was likely to be tight.
Considering the heavy rain of the previous two days, the Holker Street was in good condition though necessarily soft.
