Ammunition - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Smaller sizes of shells are laid on their sides in layers, each layer pointing in the opposite direction to the one below to prevent injury to the driving bands.
Naval ammunition is therefore optimized for great velocity (to reach those great ranges, to hit aircraft flying at altitude and also with the benefit of reducing the lead that has to be applied to hit a distant moving target) and to disable said machines, rather than rending human flesh.
Point detonating fuzes detonate upon contact with the ground.

History Of The Top by Valerie Oliver, Copyright Spintastics Skill Toys, Inc., 2002
The peg of the whip top was not stressed since the point did not have the wear from impact on it as with the peg top.
The throwing top, in general, is pear shaped, usually with some sort of point at the narrow end and which is wound by a cord and thrown to unwind the cord from the top, causing the top to spin.
The point of the ball-bearing top does not spin, therefore there is little or no friction between it and the surface.

One Democratic Party? Or Many? | TPMCafe
My main point is that 'region and style' is by far the least painful way to compromise, but it's not as easy as CJColucci thinks to actually pull it off.
I don't see any region/style points high enough to cover the fact that the Democrats have run out of ideas and energy.
Okay, I'm a wimp in that I don't hunt and have never shot anything with a higher IQ than an old beer car, but I like the bang and the kick and being out in the desert and blowing the back of an old refrigerator the hell with a hollow point round out of a.45.
