Hollywood Park is a thoroughbred racecourse located in Inglewood, California, about 3 miles (5 km) from Los Angeles International Airport and next door to The Forum.
Hollywood Park closed from 1942 to 1944 due to World War II, being used as a storage facility.
In 1949, the original grandstand and clubhouse were destroyed by a fire; the rebuilt facility reopened in 1950.

Fortunately, the administration here is cooperative, and you can pick up a map of the grounds as you enter the park, from the flower shop at the main gate, which highlights the locations of many of the stars buried here.
Some sections of the cemetery grounds are a little unkempt (more than a handful of tombstones are broken or tilted by overgrown tree roots), but the tranquil area by the lake is beautiful.
And despite their age, both buildings are white and sunny (illuminated by stained-glass skylights), not at all the sort of dark and spooky environs your imagination might conjure up when you think of an old mausoleum.

Hollywood Park will add a pair of $100,000 stakes races for 2-year-olds, and Golden Gates Fields will be provided $166,000 to supplement purses for turf races at the Northern California track.
The $100,000 Real Quiet for 2-year-olds will be run at Hollywood Park on Nov. 26, and the $100,000 Sharp Cat for 2-year-old fillies will be on Nov. 27.
