The Holman Christian Standard Bible (Top 10 Bible Versions #1) | Faith & Reason | THIS LAMP...and that's all I need
The Living Bible is significant in that not only was it an extremely popular paraphrase, but more importantly, it was the first Bible to unseat (for a time) the KJV as the highest ranking in Bible sales.
The HCSB capitalizes the pronouns, rendering the text, "Shepherd Your people with Your staff, the flock that is Your possession." Thus, the way the pronouns are capitalized, it would lead one to believe that this is a prayer to God from the prophet Micah.
HCSB FAQ, only 50% of the 100 or so members of the translation committee were Baptists, and 17 different denominations were represented in that team.

Holman Christian Standard Bible - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB or Holman CSB) is an English translation of the Holy Bible, published by Holman Bible Publishers.
The roots of the HCSB can be traced back as early as 1984, when Arthur Farstad, general editor of the New King James Version of the Bible, began a new independent translation project.
The translation committee sought to strike a balance between the two prevailing philosophies of Bible translation: formal equivalence (literal, "word-for-word", etc), found in translations like the New American Standard Bible and the English Standard Version, and dynamic or functional equivalence ("thought-for-thought"), found in translations like the New International Version and the New Living Translation.

Holman Christian Standard Bible : Add-On Module for PC Study Bible Version 4
The Holman CSB seeks to reflect recent changes in English by using modern punctuation, formatting, and vocabulary, while avoiding slang, regionalisms, or changes made specifically for the sake of political or social agendas.
After several years of preliminary development, Holman Bible Publishers, the oldest Bible publisher in America, assembled an international, interdenominational team of 100 scholars, editors, stylists, and proofreaders, all of whom were committed to biblical inerrancy.
Yahweh is used more often in the Holman CSB than in most Bible translations because the word LORD in English is a title of God and does not accurately convey to modern readers the emphasis on God's name in the original Hebrew.

Holman Bible Publishers is convinced there is room for another category of translation philosophies that capitalizes on the strengths of the other two.
While the HCSB avoids using "man" or "he" unnecessarily, the translation does not restructure sentences to avoid them when they are in the text.
Two common forms of punctuation are used in the HCSB to help with clarity and ease of reading: em dashes (a long dash) are used to indicate sudden breaks in thought or to help clarify long or difficult sentences.

 Bible Translations Into English
The English Standard Version uses archaic constructions to produce a text that sounds more literal than it really is. For example, Hosea 9:1 in the English Standard Version reads, “Rejoice not, O Israel” where the equally conservative Holman Christian Standard Bible reads, “Israel, do not rejoice.” The translations are equally literal.
The inclusion of the word “standard” in the names of the English Standard Version, the New American Standard Bible, and the Holman Christian Standard Version only means that the translators would like churches to adopt it as their standard.
The word “standard” in the name of a Bible translation does not mean that the translation passed the scrutiny of some sort of Underwriters Laboratories for Bible translations, or that they are better or worse than translations without the word “standard” in their names.

Because such a large variety of English Bible translations are available, many people wonder why LifeWay is going through the challenge (and it is a huge challenge!) to create the Holman Christian Standard Bible®.
The Revised Standard Version, the newly published English Standard Version (ESV), and, believe it or not, the King James Version are examples of revisions (the King James is based largely on the sixteenth century work of William Tyndale).
The Holman CSB® is not looking for ways to stir up gender language conflicts, but it is committed to reflecting how the Scripture was originally crafted—another assurance of the literalness of its rendering.
