  NCAHF Position Paper on Homeopathy
Homeopathy was devised by the German physician Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843) as a reaction to practices based upon the ancient humoral theory which he labeled "allopathy." The term has been misapplied to regular medicine ever since.
Homeopathy (derived from the Greek words homoios "similar" and pathos "suffering") is a sectarian healing system devised by Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), a German physician who rejected the harsh medical practices of his era which included bleeding, purging, vomiting and the administration of highly toxic drugs.
Homeopathy clearly fits Webster's dictionary definitions of a cult: "A system for the cure of disease based on dogma set forth by its promulgator," and a sect: "a group adhering to a distinctive doctrine or a leader." Healing cults or sects cannot progress and retain their identity.

 Homeopathy: Encyclopedia of Medicine
Homeopathy is generally a safe treatment, as it uses medicines in extremely diluted quantities, and there are usually minimal side effects.
Homeopathy is a good treatment to explore for acute and chronic illnesses, particularly if these are found in the early stages and where there is not severe damage.
Homeopathy was founded by German physician Samuel Hahnemann (1755–1843), who was much disturbed by the medical system of his time, believing that its cures were crude and some of its strong drugs and treatments did more harm than good to patients.

 Homeopathy: The Ultimate Fake
Thus, until homeopathy's apologists can supply a plausible (nonmagical) mechanism for the "potentiation"-through-dilution of precisely one of the many substances in each of their products, it is impossible to accept that they have correctly identified the active ingredients in their products.
Homeopathy's followers take for granted that every sensation reported was caused by whatever substance was administered, and that extremely dilute doses of that substance would then be just the right thing to treat anyone with those specific symptoms.
Homeopathy works and you simply are too narrow-minded to understand that this world is made up of more than the mere physical and chemical natures.

Homeopathy is a natural, noninvasive system of medical treatment based on the theory that substances that cause certain symptoms in a healthy person can-in diluted amounts-cure those symptoms in an unhealthy person; thus we get the name homeopathy: homeo for similar, pathy for disease.
The term "homeopathy" is often incorrectly used to refer to almost any alternative approach to medicine-especially the use of herbal and other natural remedies.
Retail sales for homeopathy in the U.S. are around $300 million annually and growing at about eight percent annually, according to J.P. Borneman, chairman and CEO, Standard Homeopathic Company and a member of the board of directors for the National Center for Homeopathy (NCH).

 Homeopathy Resource Guide
The underlying principle of homeopathy is "like may be cured by like." That is, a homeopathic substance will produce symptoms in a healthy person that may be used to treat a sick person who has the same symptoms.
The third principle of homeopathy is its focus on the patient as a whole.
Moreover, in homeopathy, it is claimed that the more a solution is diluted, the more potent it becomes, going against the conventional drug model that the higher a drug dose, the stronger its effect.

It is well known that the Editor is a sceptic when it comes to homeopathy, fair enough, he can hold whatever views he likes, but when he allows them to influence the way he deals with subject in the journal whose reputation he is charged to uphold it is simply wrong.
Yes, homeopathy is a challenging subject and it challenges a number of beliefs that underpin conventional healthcare - not least the belief that all therapeutic interventions delivered in the NHS are scientifically validated which the Cochrane Centre will confirm they are not.
Based on current standards there is more than sufficient research evidence for homeopathy to be taken seriously and there is room for both systems to learn to live together and in doing so work more effectively for each patient.
