Watson, Homer Ransford, painter (b at Doon, Canada W 14 Jan 1855; d there 30 May 1936).
Virtually self-taught, Watson spent 1874-76 in Toronto working with John A. Fraser and Henri Perré and in New York absorbing the influence of George Inness and the Hudson River School.
Internationally famous at the peak of his career, Watson developed a landscape style marked by honesty of purpose and a focus on the moods of nature.

Homer Ranford Watson (January 14, 1855 – May 30, 1936) is a Canadian landscape painter born in 1855 in the village of Doon (now part of Kitchener), Ontario.
He died there in 1936, and although he traveled the world, it was most importantly Doon and the nearby Grand River that he painted.
When Oscar Wilde was touring Canada he dubbed Homer Watson the "Constable of Canada", comparing him to the great English landscape artist because of similar subject matter and style.

Access to Hidden Valley is close at hand, but apart from a few short trail runs that are temporarily out of commission, Hidden Valley strikes me as inferior to HW Park, unless you must have BMX style jumps (Homer Watson lacks such facilities).
Perhaps it needs larger hills and a little more variety to qualify as a five star, though, four and half as it is, but alas, that rating does not exist...
