The homosexuality I am referring to is publically denied by all parties involved, and is not considered to be based on anything but sexual lust, never emotional love.
I don't know for certain that homosexuality is silently practiced in limited ways throughout the Arab world, but I have heard this from personal and newspaper sources.
Of course, there are plenty of heterosexuals and homosexuals in the West who similarly think love is just some sort of false sublimation of sexual desire, too, and I imagine this holds true for Muslim heterosexuals, as well.
