Fourteen students were inducted into the first Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honors Society ceremony Nov. 14 at the Psychology-Sociology-Anthropology building located on 33rd Street and Powelton Avenue.
Alpha Phi Sigma, the only national criminal justice honors society for criminal justice students in the country, is headquartered at Fort Lauderdale, Fla. at Nova Southern University.
She also claimed that she was inspired by the fact that Alpha Phi Sigma is a national honors society, and that it can better serve to distinguish her from others who are also criminal justice minors.

ALBANY, N.Y. (October 17, 2003) - The Board of the Directors of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), the national leadership honor society, voted this month to establish a chapter at the University at Albany.
UAlbany becomes the 289th institution to be awarded a charter in the Society’s 90-year history, joining some of the nation’s premier colleges and universities, including the University of Southern California, Purdue, Auburn and Vanderbilt universities and the University of Maryland.
Founded by 15 student and faculty leaders in 1914 at Washington and Lee University in Virginia, ODK was the first college honor society of a national scope to give recognition for meritorious leadership and service in extracurricular activities.
