Peter amazes Hook and the pirates with the weapons he and the Boys use, including shooting paint, eggs, blinding mirrors, and Thudbutt rolling himself into a ball and becoming the "Thud Ball." Rufio comes face-to-face with Hook, and though Hook is eager to fight Rufio, Peter stops the fight.

Captain Hook - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
He wears an iron hook in place of his right hand (though in the Disney version it's the left hand to allow greater mobility) which was cut off by Peter Pan and eaten by a crocodile; the crocodile liked the taste of him so much that it follows him around constantly, hoping for more.
When Hook is bested and must choose between surrender and death, he commits suicide by throwing himself into the waiting jaws of the crocodile.
Hook also appeared frequently on House of Mouse, and was one of the main villains of Mickey's House of Villains.

The Chromium Hook is James Stanger's magnificent combination of funny peculiar and funny ha-ha, which unfolds as a series of revelations that propel the story in some very unexpected directions, despite the sheriff's keen interest in confiscating beer from partying teenagers.
The joy of Chromium Hook which starts as though it were going to be a parody of some 50's fl-and-white thriller about a hook-handed maniac who preys on teens on Lover's Lane, is the way it keeps turning around on itself.
While the hook handed man is being interviewed at the nut house("this is NOT a nut house," protests the doctor), a couple of inmates frolic insanely behind him.

Hook (1991): Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman, Julia Roberts - PopMatters Film Review
The focus of the film is not actually on Captain Hook (Dustin Hoffman), but on the grown-up Peter Banning (Robin Williams); Banning's children are kidnapped by Hook, and he must return to Neverland and re-learn his Pannish ways to rescue them.
Hook himself is on the sidelines for most of the film, plotting to win the affections of Peter's son Jack (Charlie Korsmo, the thinking person's Macaulay Culkin).
The film is really just a reiteration of the Pan story with mild tweaks; the Banning children in jeopardy instead of the Darlings, and Pan has to re-learn how to fly.

 Hook
HOOK is a typical Steven Spielberg movie, full of the magic and wonder of Never Never Land, and the joys of childhood disappearing when we grow older.
Although the film does have some fairly dark undertones that some parents might feal unsuitable for very young children, it is an extremely enjoyable experiance for the young and the young at heart and you'll want to watch it again and again.
Hook himself remembers this, and uses this knowledge to steal Peter's disillusioned son away from him, an act of revenge that forces Peter to re-learn the art of having fun in order to rescue him from the despicable Hook.

 Captain Hook's UK Film Review
Unfortunately I feel that the film was poorly executed, in order to explain why the US is behaving the way it does, it uses at least 4 distinct groups with about 20 or so characters and I think it switching back and forth between each group breaks up the flow of the film too much.
Leaving aside the message the film is clumsily trying to convey to it's audience, it's relatively entertaining, the acting is not great but it's not bad either and for anyone who isn't interested in the subject probably does give an basic introduction to how US foriegn policy is put into practice.
The film was written, directed and co-stars George Clooney and stars David Strathairn in the lead role as Edward R. Murrow who took a stand against McCarthy at a time when most journalist where to afraid to speak up for fear of being accused of being a Communist.

As a viewer, you can almost feel the tug of the good side and the bad side on yourself as you watch "Off the Hook." The film is very good at capturing the angry machismo of urban culture, where the worst thing you can do is let somebody diss you.
Like a number of French films of the past few years (for example, "The Life of Jesus" and "Rosetta"), it uses non-actors and immerses us in a real place to give a naturalistic portrayal of a community and the people in it.
With strong performances from non-professionals close to the story and the neighborhood, "Off the Hook" homes in on the natural drama of one corner of New York and makes it into a very memorable film.
