 Hoosier A3S05
Hoosier Racing Tire Sports Car D.O.T. A3S05 Radials are Track & Competition DOT tires developed for drivers who compete in autocross, time trial and hillclimb events in dry conditions where providing high levels of grip at lower operating temperatures is desirable.
Compared to Hoosier's previous A3S04 tires, the A3S05 radials’ performance improvements were achieved by using a new tread compound that Hoosier's testing in dry conditions has shown will provide enhanced dry traction and improved steering response, while retaining equivalent wear.
The prohibited use of Hoosier Racing Tires on public roadways may result in loss of traction, unexpected loss of vehicle control, or sudden loss of tire pressure, resulting in a vehicle crash and possibly injury or death.

Hoosier. The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language: Fourth Edition. 2000.
The origins of Hoosier are rather obscure, but the most likely possibility is that the term is an alteration of hoozer, an English dialect word recorded in Cumberland, a former county of northwest England, in the late 19th century and used to refer to anything unusually large.
The first recorded instance of Hoosier meaning “Indiana resident” is dated 1826; however, it seems possible that senses of the word recorded later in the Dictionary of Americanisms, including “a big, burly, uncouth specimen or individual; a frontiersman, countryman, rustic,” reflect the kind of use this word had before it settled down in Indiana.
As a nickname, Hoosier was but one of a variety of disparaging terms for the inhabitants of particular states arising in the early 19th century.

 The Word Hoosier
The best evidence, however, suggests that "Hoosier" was a term of contempt and opprobrium common in the upland South and used to denote a rustic, a bumpkin, a countryman, a roughneck, a hick or an awkward, uncouth or unskilled fellow.
The real problem of the derivation of the word "hoosier," is not a question of the origin of a word formed to designate the State of Indiana and its people, but of the origin of a slang term widely in huse in the South, signifying an uncouth rustic.
The application of "hoosier" to residents of Indiana rather stifled the debate of the relative merits of Indianian or Indianan to refer to citizens of the state.
