A recent Johns Hopkins University research on a cancer drug in India is illustrative of the complexity of this issue.
If Dr. Frazier genuinely believes Johns Hopkins and OHRP made inaccurate judgments about the trial in India, he has an obligation to take the matter up with OHRP directly rather than attempting to re-try the issues in the court of public opinion.
Meanwhile, Dr. Huang has said that Hopkins did not tell her that she had to seek approval from the university's internal review board for a trial at a foreign medical centre, The Baltimore Sun reported on November 13.

 DD-337 Zane
American intelligence knew that numerous unmined areas existed off the objective beachheads, but invasion planners thought it best to at least determine the exact boundaries of any minefields that existed in the areas.
Accordingly, Zane and four of her sisterships Hopkins (DMS-13), Southard (DMS-10), Hovey (DMS-11), and Trever were to sweep an area extending from the 100-fathom curve toward Port Purvis in the Gavutu Island area before splitting into two groups to head simultaneously toward beach "Red," clearing a 1,000-yard wide stretch through Lengo Channel toward Indispensable Strait.
She then transferred, via motor whaleboat, 13 of the men back to their ship; one man had been retained on board Zane under medical treatment for his injuries suffered when the steamer had been torpedoed.

The effect of classical phase fluctuations on the quasiparticle spectra of underdoped cuprate superconductors is studied in a preprint by M. Franz and A. Mills (Johns Hopkins).
The authors show that photoemission and tunneling spectroscopy data are well accounted for by a simple model in which mean-field d-wave quasiparticles are semiclassically coupled to supercurrents induced by fluctuating unbound vortex-antivortex pairs.
