Hor Nam Hong also requested support from Japan and other donors for his country's efforts to reduce the proportion of its population defined as poor from the current 36% to 25% by 2005 and to eliminate poverty by 2015, the official said.

After being forced to sit under the glare of TV cameras as Mr Thaksin solemnly read a letter of apology from Mr Hun Sen, Mr Hor Nam Hong drove to the coastal resort of Hua Hin to give King Bhumibol another letter from Cambodia's King Norodom Sihanouk.
Mr Thaksin had relented after refusing to arrange a meeting with the king, claiming he was too busy.

In 2001, Foreign Minister Hor Nam Hong sued three reporters from the Cambodia Daily - Kay Kimsong (Cambodian), Gina Chon (American), and Brain Mockenhaupt (American) - for an article that accused him of heading the Khmer Rouge prison in Phnom Penh and of having worked closely with the Khmer Rouge foreign minister, Ieng Sary.
The Phnom Penh court convicted the three reporters and fined then 2,500 USD each after Hor Nam Hong denied the allegations.
Following the court decision, the foreign minister requested the court suspend the fine due to his sympathy for the journalists' inability to pay it.

His foreign minister, Hor Nam Hong, said Wednesday in parliament that the government would reject such a provision.

Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia have agreed to push the project of the golf course spanning over the linking borders of the respective countries.
The agreement was achieved after a meeting in Champasak province of Laos between Thai Foreign Minister Surakiart Sathirathai and his Lao and Cambodian counterparts, Somsavath Lengsavad and Hor Nam Hong, respectively.
The project known as the "Emerald Triangle" would be a conventional tourist destinations between the three countries, covering about 12 square kilometers where their borders meet.

Foreign Minister Hor Nam Hong sued three journalists from the English-language Cambodia Daily for defamation after they published an article in January that examined his alleged role in the Khmer Rouge regime.
In September, the Phnom Penh municipal court ordered the journalists to pay U.S. $6,500 in compensation to Hor Nam Hong and a $1,280 fine to the government.
