Bandar Abbas, Sept 29, IRNA -- Director General of Hormozgan province Fishery Department Ibrahim Migli-Nejad said on Sunday that 30-40 days of shrimps fishing period in Hormozgan province creates 7,000 jobs.
He said that over the first half of the current Iranian year (started March 21), 1,349 tons of fish and 1,561 tons of shrimp worth dlrs seven million were exported from Hormozgan province.
The base price of the shrimp as agreed between the fishers and owners of the related fundamental industries, has been set at rls 25,000/kg, down by rls 1,500 compared with last year in view of the drop in its global price, he said.

Twenty people have died as a result of floods and heavy rain in Iran's southern provinces of Hormozgan and Sistan-Balouchistan, state television reported Tuesday.
Four people were found dead in the town of Iranshahr and another 10 were corpses were found in the city of Sarbaz, both in the south-eastern province of Sistan-Balouchistan, after the rivers overflowed due to heavy rains.
