  "Hot Diggity Dog" by Shenanchie
He opened the first "hot dog" stand in 1871, which were known as "dachshunds" at the time, and sold 3,684 of the dogs wrapped in a milk bun his first year.
Most hot dogs are made using cellulose casings which are later removed, while others use natural casings made from animal intestines, which remain on the hot dog when it is finally eaten.
The majority of hot dogs are high in fat, and almost all of them also contain sodium nitrite, which is a chemical salt used as a preservative and flavor enhancer, which some researchers claim are carcinogens.

 National Hot Dog Month
July is National Hot Dog Month, and according to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council, Americans will be consuming the infamous little red tubes of "meat" in record numbers this summer.
Many hot dogs may be relatively high in fat and sodium, but they are also a good source of protein, iron, and other necessary vitamins.
For instance, hot dogs in New York are generally served with a lighter mustard and steamed onions, while Chicago hot dogs can come with mustard, relish, onions, tomato slices, or pretty much anything at all.

Louis Armstrong and his Hot Five - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There were two different groups called "Louis Armstrong and his Hot Five", the first recording from 1925 through 1927 and the second in 1928; Armstrong was the only musician in both groups.
The original Hot Five was, other than Armstrong's wife Lil Hardin Armstrong on piano, all New Orleans musicians who Armstrong had worked with in that city the 1910s: Kid Ory on trombone, Johnny Dodds on clarinet, and Johnny St. Cyr on guitar and banjo.
For some or all of the Louis Armstrong and his Hot Seven sides, Ory was in New York City working with King Oliver's band, and was replaced, probably by John Thomas.

CD Baby: HOT CLUB OF NEW ORLEANS: Hot Club of New Orleans
The Hot Club excels at generating that warm, swinging drive that Django Reinhardt was famous for and at the dame time transcends the idiom by eschewing blind obedience to stylistic conventions; in other words the solos are modern, kids.
The Hot Club of New Orleans started out as a small combo that hit the scene on the heels of the local nouveau swing revival, which includes such popular acts as Johnny Angel, Ingrid Lucia and the Flyin' Neutrinos and others.
Rooted in the Hot Club tradition propelled by Django Reinhardt and Stephan Grapelli in pre-WWII France, this electrifying jazz ensemble rips up the airwaves with their original and innovative sharp musical knife as they deliver a sizzling dish of everything from and between "gypsy" jazz to cabaret crooners to New Orleans Swing.

The Complete Hot Five and Hot Seven Recordings - Louis Armstrong
Each new generation of players is scrutinized through the lens of those who came before, to a degree inconceivable in rock, even though the melodic and structural scope of rock is much narrower than that of jazz.
It would be easy to dismiss the Hot Five and Hot Seven as "old-time stuff," particularly in light of the instrumentation (trumpet, clarinet, piano, banjo and trombone, with the later addition of tuba and drums).
But when the notes begin to pour out of the speakers, the unbidden urges - first, to grin widely; next, to tap one's foot or even to stand up, making sure there's nobody else home, and dance foolishly about the room - come in a rush, and stay for as long as the music continues.

Louis Armstrong and his Hot Seven
Louis Armstrong and his Hot Seven were the companion sessions of the Hot Five sides.
The personel is the same as the first Hot Five records except that John Thomas of Erskine Tate's Vendome Orchestra takes over Kid Ory's place on trombone, Pete Briggs of the Carroll Dickenson Orchestra plays Tuba, and Baby Dodds plays drums.
The acoustic recording process was often ruined by the vibration created by drums or bass, and recording engineers preferred not to have these instruments in a session or placed them so far from the recording horn, that they can rarely be heard well on the old acoustic recordings.

While some pianists prefer the more “modern” approach of right hand runs with stationary chordal accompaniment, Jeff Barnhart’s ability to play the “two-fisted” stride style of ragtime and jazz piano with unmatched speed and agility adds a dynamic visual element to his performances.
His mastery of a huge repertoire of ragtime, stride and hot jazz piano pieces, along with his innate ability to communicate with audiences of all ages, have made him an increasingly integral part of many ragtime and jazz festivals throughout the world.

The other four musicians were Armstrong's wife, Lil Hardin Armstrong, on piano; Johnny Dodds on clarinet; Kid Ory on trombone; and Johnny St. Cyr on banjo.
Possessing an uncanny blend of exuberance and creativity, he combined virtuosic declarations with a talent for the subtlest shifts in phrasing and melodic variation, creating rich emotional statements that could hint at loss in the midst of joy or the promise of better things in the most sorrowful blues.
The band expands here, to the Hot Seven and larger ensembles, and it gains soloists who applied Armstrong's lessons to their own instruments--musicians such as pianist Earl Hines and trombonist Jack Teagarden--but all come under the imprint of Armstrong's flowering genius, as both trumpeter and singer.
