		The Hotel Negresco on the Promenade des Anglais on the Baie des Anges in Nice, France was named for Henri Negresco (1868-1920) who had the palatial hotel constructed in 1912.
		Henri Negresco, born the son of an innkeeper in Bucharest, Romania, left home at the age of 15 going first to Paris then to the French Riviera where he became very successful.
		Seized by creditors, the Negresco was sold to a Belgian company and Henri Negresco died a few years later in Paris at the age of 52.

		In my opinion the decor of this hotel, specially the main salon (where they have that awful fat dancing lady and acrilic tables in the middle of beautiful chairs) and room 325, are "a monument to bad taste".
		The hotel is incredible to look at, however the service on the private beach was appalling, I have never been so rudely treated in my life, the food was terrible and even having reserved two sun loungers through the concierge, we were bluntly informed that the beach was full.
		I think that when staying in a 5 star hotel and paying vety high rates it is bad enough that you have to pay to use their beach, but to then be treated with such rudeness and arrogance was completely unnacceptable.
