Houlton is a town in Aroostook County, Maine, on the Canadian border, located at 46.13° N 67.84° W (http://kvaleberg.com/extensions/mapsources/index.php?params=46.13_N_67.84_W_).
Houlton is the county seat for Aroostook County, and as such its nickname is the "Shire Town" and the Houlton High School students and sports teams are named "The Shiretowners".
Houlton was officially incorporated as a town in 1831.
