Nigeriaworld Feature Article - Nigeria's external debt: Which is more unsustainable - The debt or the repudiation?   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-16)
Nigeria's repudiation of these debts will almost be like repudiating her domestic debts to the Central Bank of Nigeria.
So, unless we distrust those who verified that Nigeria owes the odd 35 billion dollars to her external creditors, we must assume that no part of the country's debt portfolio is sufficiently questionable to warrant a sustainable repudiation or default.
Nigeria will still be stuck with the debt in addition to more billions in legal fees, debt acceleration costs, attorneys and other costs incurred by her lenders, court costs, and other costs incidental to defending an international suit of attrition in a foreign land.

The inauguration recently of a group, Forum for Democracy and Good Governance in the House of Representatives led by Dr. Usman Bugaje, appears to be the latest in the moves to unseat the present leadership of the House despite the group’s claim to the contrary.
Indeed, in the days preceding the launching of the Forum, not less than 30 members of the House, loyal to the administration of the Speaker, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari, told newsmen that the group was formed mainly with the intention of upstaging the Speaker and his group.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Mr Alaba Ojomo joined by his colleague in the Committee on Housing, Mr Osita Osinacho, told newsmen a day before the inauguration of the Forum that the leadership of the House would not want to be distracted by any individual or group.

 Nigeriaworld -- The impeachment imbroglio
If anyone is still in doubt about the quality of the people that we have in Nigeria's House of Representatives, it is one's belief that this idiotic, ill-conceived, vindictive impeachment move erases all doubts about their carpetbagger nature.
Vindictive, because the leaders of the House were only out to get their enemy in person of President Obasanjo, by all means and had no intention of saving the ordinary Nigerian from the ineptness of the administration, hence they bungled an otherwise well - deserved impeachment process against the president.
This odious tripod that represents the first two arms of our government are so inextricably twined in the cocoon of moral aridity as evident in the paralysing kleptomania, flagrant ostentation, blatant brigandage and banditry and the resulting deafening cacophony of our wailing people.

The proponents have not provided evidence that within Nigeria (a country comprised of about 250 ethnic groups, with majority of them having the same well-tested cultural norm in this regard) there has been an adverse effect of ‘circumcision’ on the female population.
There is no need just sending a Bill to the house that has been signed by a handful of people (less than 100) in a population of about 120 million in Nigeria.
