Located at the confluence of the Bulkley and Morice Rivers, Houston was established in the early 1900s as the tie-cutting centre for the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway, and was incorporated as a village in 1957.
Location: Houston is ideally located between Prince Rupert and Prince George on Highway 16, 192 miles (307 km) west of Prince George, 51 miles (82 km) west of Burns Lake, 40 miles (64 km) east of Smithers and 260 miles (416 km) east of Prince Rupert.
North of Houston in Smithers is the Ski Smithers Resort.

The helicopter, a Bell 206 BIII, with the pilot and four passengers on board, was on a charter flight from Houston, British Columbia, to a ski cabin on Mount Morice, 10 miles to the south of Houston.
The pilot informed the FSS specialist that the estimated visibility in Houston was 3/4 of a mile in fog.
He reported that the surface visibility at Houston was approximately two miles in fog and that the ceiling was approximately 300 feet obscured.

HBCC UFO Note: The couple of days ago I reported that three blue/white lights in a triangular shape were witnessed by a Canfor sawmill employee flying very low over top of him.
The witness to the early morning sighting works for Houston Forest Products which is one of two large and very modern sawmills.
At the time of his sighting he was operating a heavy machine in the log yard when a "extremely" bright yellow/orange light caught his attention.

A Houston resident told me today that on August 13, 2002 from her home, which is located on the slopes of Mount Harry Davis, she was shutting everything down for the night when something very strange caught her eye.

While this couple were at their residence which is above their business the wife heard a loud humming noise coming from outside.
This couple told me they were going to call the Houston RCMP thinking that the object had crashed into the side of the mountain but did not as the object continued it's course up the mountain and out of sight before they knew what was going on.
I have visited the area where this craft was hovering, but have not found any trace evidence of any kind.

One late night, around midnight they were on their way back to Houston from Burns Lake, B.C. and were about 5 kilometers east of Houston.
There is a long straight stretch before you climb a small long hill on Highway #16 which takes you right into the town of Houston.
While traveling on this straight part of the Highway the witnesses passed the local gold course, looking straight in front of them and a little to their right, sits Mount Harry Davis.

I jumped into the car and drove the 2 kilometers east from Houston to his home, where they have a large farm.
I still am getting reported sightings from local residents, from Houston, Telkwa and Smithers of military vehicles which were running around the area after the July 29, 2002 sighting.

 UFO Sighting Report November 24th 2004 : Houston, British Columbia, Canada
It was an exciting night to say the least as it has been very quiet in the Pacific Northwest of B.C. over 2004 compared with 2002 and 2003 when northwestern B.C. was almost the UFO capital of Canada due to the large amount of reported UFO sightings.
This pretty much was the end of the night's excitement as I sat in the dark for a few hours watching the mountain.
One interesting event took place at the base of the mountain and was witness by the entire family.
