		Houston has attempted to build a banking industry in the city, but all of the companies which had been started in Houston were merged with other companies nationwide.
		Houston has a variety of newspapers, with the Houston Chronicle (which is the only major daily newspaper in Houston receiving wide distribution) being read all across the South-Central United States.
		Houston is the county seat of Harris County, and A portion of far southwest Houston also extends into Fort Bend County.
