In the Euro elections Caroline Lucas is re-elected as a Green MEP for the south-east region.
Cllr Keith Taylor, Green Party Candidate for Brighton Pavilion, won 9.35% of the vote with a swing of 6.8% to the Greens, compared with a fall in the Labour and Tory vote of 5.9% and 2.6% respectively.
Brighton & Hove Green Party choose Councillor Keith Taylor and Hugh 'Barney' Miller to contest the Brighton Pavilion and Brighton Kemptown seats respectively, at the forthcoming General Election.

I represent a constituency in the north‑east of England.
My area of the south coast in Brighton and Hove is an area of high housing prices, whether we are talking about buying or whether we are talking about renting, low provision of social housing, high provision, comparatively, of privately rented housing.
At the same time, if the school in your constituency ‑ and I do not know the ins and outs of it so I do not want to criticise it ‑ is not providing high enough standards, we have got to ask why and then take remedial action.

Simon Williams, the Green Party's parliamentary candidate for Brighton Kemp Town constituency in the General Election, is writing a weekly web diary or ‘blog’ of his election campaign as it takes shape over the next few weeks in the marginal Labour-held constituency.
Williams is a Green city councillor on Brighton and Hove Council and is the only gay candidate standing for a mainstream party in Brighton Kemp Town which is thought to have one of the largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) populations in the country.
Greens are now serious contenders throughout Brighton and Hove’s three parliamentary constituencies and they expect to build on their success in last year’s European Parliament elections where they beat Labour across the entire city and comfortably won the neighbouring Brighton Pavilion constituency with more than 27% of the vote.

These constituents have, up until now, worked around the issue by purchasing a satellite dish for a one-off charge and obtaining a free-to-view (or Solus) card which enabled them to watch BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and 5 via satellite without having to pay a monthly subscription.
The BBC has however recently taken the decision that the production and distribution of the card is no longer cost-effective and they decided to unencrypt their signals at source instead, thereby allowing anyone with a satellite dish (not simply those with a Sky dish) to receive BBC signals and watch BBC channels.
I am aware that this meant that for a long while some of my constituents went without ITV and Channel 4 and 5 as those channels continued to encrypt their signals.

I have found the task of fighting my constituents corner very rewarding - whether it be supporting a ban on fur farming, lobbying for inward investment or challenging Southern Water's proposals for a sewage plant at Portobello.
The majority of that post bag is correspondence relating to individual constituent's difficulties or lobbying by constituents on a particular issue such as National Park Status for the South Downs or International Debt Relief.
