| | REVIEW--How to Make An American Quilt (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-09) |
 | | How To Make An American Quilt, now at the Storyteller, is the first American film by Australian film maker, Jocelyn Moorhouse--whose last film, PROOF, did well on the American Art House Scene. |
 | | Like the quilt in the title, the structure of the film is patterned--laying out the stories of several lives into a beautiful and pleasing arrangement--and although this is an interesting choice for the film maker, the result is an uneven pace and occasionally sluggish plot line. |
 | | Still, How To Make An American Quilt offers a complex and authentic exploration of the relationships between men and women, and for this, and for the many wonderful performances, it is worth seeing. |
