		Howell County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri.
		In the county the population was spread out with 26.00% under the age of 18, 7.80% from 18 to 24, 26.20% from 25 to 44, 23.30% from 45 to 64, and 16.80% who were 65 years of age or older.
		The median income for a household in the county was $25,628, and the median income for a family was $30,534.

		The Township of Howell was retained as the Southwest Township of Oregon County when that county was organized into four townships by the County Court on the first Monday of October 1845.
		The creative act of forming "Howell County" was passed and the Justices named to organize the county were: Benjamin Alsup (of Alsupsburg), James Ellison and Joshy Howell, Sheriff, and Joseph Harris, County Clerk.

		Howell’s Chuck Breiner has been named as the Superintendent of the Year for the Michigan Association of School Administrators Region 6, which includes Livingston, Clinton, Eaton, Ingham and Shiawassee counties.
		Howell Attorney Thomas Kizer filed the paperwork in Livingston County Circuit Court Monday against Judge Suzanne Geddis (pictured at left) asking the court to exercise its powers of superintending control.
		To back up that claim, Kizer cites two separate cases where he was specifically requested to serve as a mediator and says that Geddis, on the record, raised the issue that she was not having good luck with him and clearly expressed her dissatisfaction to the attorney with their choice.

	UED6045 Missouri Courthouses:Howell County, MU Extension
		Howell County organized in 1857, but all records were destroyed in an 1866 fire.
		A $15,000 appropriation voted for in November 1882 financed the third courthouse for Howell County.
		An explosion in the West Plains Halstead block caused extensive damage April 19, 1928, and the building was condemned and abandoned before being razed in 1933.
