Henschel Hs 132 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Henschel Hs 132 was a World War II dive bomber and interceptor aircraft of the Luftwaffe that never saw service.
The Berlin Charlottenberg B9 built by DVL proved the advantages of the prone position, and as result the Hs 132 was developed.
Initially intended as a dive bomber, an interceptor version (Hs 132B) to attack enemy bombers equipped with two 20mm MG 151 cannons was proposed as well.

Henschel Hs 129 - Variants   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-29)
Where the Hs 129 was unusual was that the fuselage was remarkably slim, with a triangular section (narrow at the top, broad at the bottom), with the front end in the form of a cramped cockpit surrounded by welded armour of 6-mm or 12-mm thickness, and with small panes of glass 75 mm thick.
In Poland and France the litle Hs 123, despite the fact that it was an obsolescent biplane of very limited capability, had demonstrated what the General Staff had previously been reluctant to believe, that aircraft could play a valuable, and even crucial, role in land battles.
Hs 129B-1/R4 - Two 20 mm MG 151/20 cannon with 125 rounds per gun and two 7.92 mm (0.31 in) MG 17 machine-guns and provision for a single 551 lbs (250 kg) SC 250 bomb in place of the HS 129B-1/R1s two fuselage 110 lbs (50 kg) SC 50 bombs.

Henschel Hs 126 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Henschel Hs 126 was a Luftwaffe aircraft of World War II.
Although primarily a reconnaissance aircraft, it could carry up to 50 kg of bombs and was equiped with two 7.92 mm machine guns, a forward firing MG 17 and a flexible MG 15 in the observer/gunner position.

Tank Buster from Hasegawa: Modeling the Hs 129B   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-29)
When Hasegawa announced they were releasing a 1/48th-scale kit of the Henschel Hs 129, a lot of modelers asked, 'Why?' A lot probably even asked 'What?' From Hasegawa's point of view, the obvious answer to the first question is to make money.
The answer to the second is the Hs 129 is a very early version of the dedicated airborne tank killer and general all around 'air to mud machine.' The Henschel Hs 129 was an important aircraft in the development of ground attack aircraft.
Thus was born the subject of the Hasegawa kit the Hs 129B.

 Second World War Books: Review
The Hs 129 is not the most acclaimed aircraft of WWII, not the most recognizable, and -- with somewhere between 800 and 1200 produced -- certainly not the most ubiquitous.
Most of the relatively few Hs 129 squadrons were committed to the Russian Front where the infantry required all the assistance it could muster against the formidable Soviet armor.
Chapters include interesting information on the Hs 129 in Rumanian service (fighting alongside the Germans and then against them) and the continuing evolution (and experimentation) of armament, including rearward-firing machine-guns aimed by a rear-view periscope, the 3.7cm Flak 18, the SG 113 A mortar, and the Pak 40 75mm cannon.

Colour plates are also to be found in the middle; these are an Hs129 A-0 (blue 16), 6 Luftwaffe Hs 129 B's (four in 65/70/71 and two in 78/79) and two Romanian aircraft, one with the cross marking and one with the roundel adopted after leaving the axis.

The ultimate version, Hs 129 B-3 – armed with a heavy 75mm antitank gun, entered service too late to be of any help (the fact if it was ever used in combat being questioned by some authors).
I always liked the aggressive and typical “teutonic” look of the Henschel 129 (to me, it’s also the real “father” of the A-10 Thunderbolt II – another “ugly bird with a punch”), and Hasegawa/Revell’s issue is a great improvement compared to the old Esci kit.
Considering the superb Revell/Italeri 1/72 models (not forgetting Pavla’s nice Hs 129 A), I can say we now have a complete and accurate range of kits doing full justice to this lesser known, yet important and fascinating aircraft.

The Spanish Civil War proved that the Luftwaffe were desperately in need of a decent ground attack aircraft, and in 1938 requests were issued for such an aircraft - to be single-seat, twin-engined, and heavily armed and armored.
Two companies put forward proposals; Focke Wulf with their Fw189 "Uhu", and Henschel with the Hs 129.
The Hs 129 was certainly well armored, with the pilot sitting in essentially an armor-plated tub - completely surrounded by 6-12mm steel plating.

This small twin-engine airplane was developed towards the late 1930's as a pioneering concept in attack warplanes, to meet a requirement to carry at least two 20-mm cannon and extensive armour protection.
Henschel designed the HS 129 and the first prototype (of three in all) flew in early 1939.
The Hs 129B-3 was a converted aircraft design to carry an electropneumatically operated 75-mm BK 7.5 gun under the fuselage, proving itself to be a formidable tank buster, able to withstand a fair amount of damage caused by anti-aircraft guns, even though it was very difficult to fly.
