		Hu Jintao was born in Jiangyan, Jiangsu, in 1942.
		In 1982, Hu was transferred to Beijing and appointed as secretariat of the Communist Youth League Central Committee ("CY Central").
		Hu was responsible for a political crackdown in early 1989 that lead to the deaths of several Tibetan activists.

		Hu Jintao, a native of Jixi, Anhui Province, was born in December 1942.
		In 1992, 49-year-old Hu was elected member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee at the First Plenum of the 14th CPC Central Committee, which was then widely considered as an important step the CPC had taken toward generational transition of the central leadership.
