Hucknall came under almost constant pressure from the home side as they went in search of a winner, but once again the Hucknall defence was more than a match for anything thrown at them, and the home side always had to be aware of Bacon, Ricketts and Todd when Hucknall did manage to break out.
Hucknall were pushing forward, and Mark Smith had the next chance, but he shot wide after Danny Bacon had put him through, and just after the half hour mark, Smith broke down the left wing and centred for Bacon, but his bobbled shot went just wide of the upright with Young beaten.
Hucknall pushed foward, and not for the first time, Gary Ricketts nodded the ball down to Danny Bacon, he pushed the ball past his defender and fired a vicious shot into the roof of the net to give the home side the lead, and a two goal advantage.

Hucknall may be evasive but he usually manages to be entertaining with it and he carries his celebrity with ease.
Hucknall is hardly conventional pin-up material, and when Simply red’s star first rose in the mid-1980’s and their singer’s pudgy, whey-faced features started to appear on magazine covers and television screens, beneath a series of strange hats, he looked an unlikely icon of male sexuality, to put it kindly.
